Poonam Pandey’s team on Friday said she died to cervical cancer.

Model and reality TV star Poonam Pandey on Saturday said that she is alive, a day after her team said she died due to cervical cancer.
In a video on an Instagram account, she clarified that the fake death announcement was an effort to initiate a conversation and spread awareness about cervical cancer.

Apologising to her fans, she said, “I’m sorry I’ve caused this fear and I’m sorry to those whom I’ve hurt. My intention? To shock everyone into the conversation that we are not talking enough about, which is cervical cancer. Yes, I faked my demise, extreme I know. But suddenly, we all are talking about cervical cancer, aren’t we? It’s a disease that silently takes your life. And this disease needed the spotlight urgently. I’m proud of what my death news has been able to achieve.”

In another clip, she said, “I feel compelled to share something significant with you all – I am here, alive. Cervical Cancer didn’t claim me, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease.”
Her announcement, however, sparked mixed reactions on the internet, with some labelling it the “worst publicity stunt ever,” while others using it as an opportunity to share funny memes.

Famous YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani shared a meme of Paresh Rawal on X, formerly Twitter, with the overlay text, “Main mar bhi jata na, toh bhi nahi marta [Even if I were to die, I wouldn’t actually die]”.

In another post, Poonam Pandey is mockingly receiving the “Worst Media Campaign” award from the President. The caption read, “Poonam Pandey receiving a well-deserved award.”

In another playful take on Poonam Pandey’s controversial stunt, a popular meme page shared a clip featuring WWE’s Undertaker. The video shows the Undertaker lying in a coffin, but as someone approaches, he unexpectedly grabs the person’s neck, showing that he was not actually dead. “Poonam Pandey drama,” the caption read.

A side-by-side collage of Poonam Pandey and Lucky, a character from the movie Welcome, known for coming back from the dead, also made its way to the Internet. The caption read, “2 people who can come back from the dead.”

As Poonam Pandey’s stunt continues to be the talk of the town, the Internet’s ability to turn real-life twists into lighthearted memes and commentary remains undeniably entertaining.

What Asaduddin Owaisi speak to reporters in Karnataka’s kalaburgi.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi continues to challenge the narrative of the Ram Janmabhommi Temple, claiming that Babri Masjid was a systematically taken over from Indian Muslims as they used to offer prayers there for over 500 years.

Speaking to reporters in Karnataka’s Kalaburagi on Saturday Owaisi said, “Muslims offered namaz in Babri Masjid for 500 years. When Congress’ GB Pant was the CM of Uttar Pradesh, idols were placed inside the masjid… Nair was the collector of Ayodhya at that time. He shut the masjid and started worshipping over there and later in 1950’s he become the first parliamentarian of Jan Sangh.”

Further getting into the course of events that allegedly led to the demolition of Babri Masjid and later the construction of Ram Mandir Owaisi targeted that time government and questioned them.

“Ram Mandir did not exist when VHP was formed. Mahatma Gandhi never mentioned anything about Ram Mandir. Very systematically, Babri Masjid has been taken away from Indian Muslims… Had GB Pant removed those idols back then and gate were not opened in 1986 had the Masjid not been demolished in 1992, we wouldn’t have to see things how they are today. There are our questions but no one is answering them,” he added.

Questioning secularism of AAP led Delhi government and INDIA alliance Owaisi said, those who claims of them of being secular are saying that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal who is also in the INDIA alliance says that we will organise Sunderkand Paath and Hanuman Chalisa every Tuesday in government schools, does a school has a religion but nobody speaks anything about this because they are all busy targeting the votes of the majority community.”

The Pran Pratishta ceremony will be held in Ayodhya on January 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with several other leaders will attend the event. Several celebrities and noted personalities have also been invited to the ceremony.

The Education System in India v/s Foreign.

Education is one of the most crucial investments for a student’s future. It is essential to choose the right education system that meets a student’s needs and goals.

Indian education and foreign education systems differ significantly in several aspects, such as the education system, tuition fees, curriculum and specialisation, faculty and research opportunities, and job opportunities. Therefore, it is essential to understand the differences between these two systems to make an informed decision about pursuing higher education.

In this article, we will compare Indian education vs. foreign education, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses.

Indian education vs foreign education

India and foreign countries have different education systems, and students have to weigh the pros and cons of both to make an informed decision. Here are the main strengths and weaknesses of Indian education and foreign education:

1. Education System

The Indian education system is predominantly based on the traditional model of teaching, which focuses on rote learning and theoretical knowledge. In this system, students are evaluated primarily based on their ability to memorise information and reproduce it in exams. While this approach has its advantages in certain subject areas, it can limit students’ critical thinking, analytical skills, and creativity.

The system does not provide many opportunities for students to engage in hands-on learning or experiential learning. In addition, students are expected to choose a particular stream early on in their education, and they are expected to stick to it throughout their degree. This approach limits their exposure to other fields and may prevent them from exploring different subjects or developing interdisciplinary skills.

In contrast, foreign education systems like Canadian education system prioritise practical and experiential learning. They emphasise critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, which are essential for students to succeed in their careers. These systems encourage students to engage in hands-on learning, internships, and co-op programs, giving them opportunities to apply their knowledge to real-world situations.

Foreign education systems also offer a more diverse range of learning opportunities, such as interdisciplinary courses, online learning, and exchange programs. This diversity of options helps students broaden their horizons and gain a more global perspective on their subject area. These systems also allow students to customise their degrees according to their interests and career goals, providing them with the flexibility to explore different fields and develop a unique skill set.

The Indian education system has its strengths, such as producing highly qualified professionals in fields such as engineering, medicine, and management. However, it also has limitations, such as limited practical learning opportunities, a rigid curriculum, and limited exposure to interdisciplinary fields. In contrast, foreign education systems emphasise practical learning, critical thinking, and creativity, providing students with a broader and more diverse education.

2. Tuition fees

One of the most significant differences between Indian education and foreign education is the tuition fees. In India, the cost of education is relatively low compared to many foreign countries.

The tuition fees in India can vary depending on the level of education and the institution. Government-funded institutions typically charge lower tuition fees compared to private institutions. For example, the annual tuition fees for a bachelor’s degree in engineering in a government-funded institution can be around INR 50,000 to INR 2 lakhs ($700-$2,800) per year. In contrast, private institutions can charge anywhere between INR 2 lakhs to INR 20 lakhs ($2,800-$28,000) per year for the same degree.

In contrast, the cost of education in foreign countries, especially in developed countries like the USA, Canada, and Australia, is much higher. The tuition fees for a bachelor’s degree in these countries can range from $20,000 to $50,000 per year. Additionally, students also have to pay for living expenses, accommodation, and other related costs, which can add up to a significant amount.

While the cost of education in India is relatively low compared to many foreign countries, the cost has been steadily increasing in recent years. In contrast, foreign education systems are more expensive, but they also provide more opportunities for financial aid and scholarships, which can reduce the burden on students.

3. Curriculum and Specialisation

The curriculum and specialisation options offered in Indian education and foreign education systems differ significantly. In India, the education system is often rigid and does not provide students with many opportunities to explore different fields. Students are expected to choose a specific stream or specialisation early on in their education and stick to it throughout their degree.

The Indian education system is based on a centralised curriculum that is prescribed by the respective boards of education. This system leaves little room for customisation or personalisation of courses, and students have limited choices in terms of the courses they can take. As a result, students often lack exposure to different fields and may not have the opportunity to develop interdisciplinary skills.

In contrast, foreign education systems emphasise flexibility and provide students with a wide range of course options and specialisation areas. Students can often choose their courses based on their interests and career goals, and they have the freedom to explore different fields. In many cases, foreign education systems encourage interdisciplinary learning, enabling students to gain a more holistic understanding of their field.

Foreign education systems also offer more specialised courses and degrees, providing students with the opportunity to develop niche skills that are in demand in the job market. For example, students can specialise in areas such as digital marketing, entrepreneurship, sustainable development, or data science. This specialisation helps students gain a competitive edge in the job market and opens up opportunities for career growth and advancement

4. Faculty and Research Opportunities

The quality of faculty and research opportunities is another area where Indian education and foreign education systems differ significantly.

In India, while there are several institutions of national importance, the quality of faculty and research opportunities varies widely across institutions. Many institutions face challenges in attracting and retaining top-quality faculty members, and there is a lack of investment in research infrastructure and resources.

On the other hand, foreign education systems, particularly in developed countries like the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, have a strong emphasis on research and innovation. These institutions have world-class facilities and resources, which attract top-quality faculty members from around the world. Students have access to a wealth of research opportunities and can work with leading researchers in their field.

In many cases, foreign education institutions have collaborations with industry, which allows students to work on cutting-edge projects and gain practical experience. This exposure to industry and research often provides students with a competitive advantage in the job market.

Another area where foreign education systems excel is in the use of technology and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning. Many institutions use advanced technologies such as virtual and augmented reality to provide students with immersive and interactive learning experiences. In contrast, the use of technology in Indian education is often limited, and many institutions do not have the necessary infrastructure and resources to support advanced teaching and learning methods.

While there are several institutions of national importance in India, the quality of faculty and research opportunities is not consistent across institutions. In contrast, foreign education systems, particularly in developed countries, have a strong emphasis on research and innovation, and students have access to world-class facilities and resources. The use of technology in foreign education systems is also more advanced, providing students with immersive and interactive learning experiences

Conclusion

Both Indian education and foreign education systems have their advantages and disadvantages. Indian education is relatively affordable, but it may lack the flexibility and specialisation options provided by foreign education systems. On the other hand, foreign education systems offer better faculty and research opportunities, cutting-edge technology, and greater exposure to the industry, but can be more expensive. Ultimately, the choice between Indian education and foreign education will depend on a student’s goals, interests, and financial situation

The brief struggler Balkis Banu: A Timeline of Event.

The Bilkis Bano gangrape case has remained a prominent topic since the Gujarat riots and stood out as one of the most talked about verdicts in recent history.

On August 15, 2022, when India celebrated its 75 years of Independence, the trauma of Bilkis Bano of the past 20 years washed over again when 11 men who were convicted of gang-raping her, walked free. The group of 11 individuals facing accusations are Radheshyam Shah, Jaswant Chaturbhai Nai, Keshubhai Vadaniya, Bakabhai Vadaniya, Rajibhai Soni, Rameshbhai Chauhan, Shaileshbhai Bhatt, Bipin Chandra Joshi, Govindbhai Nai, Mitesh Bhatt, and Pradip Modhiya.

After struggling for nearly twenty years in her pursuit of legal redress, Bilkis Bano’s quest for justice came to a disheartening conclusion as all eleven accused individuals were granted freedom from the Godhra sub-jail. The Bilkis Bano gangrape case has remained a prominent topic since the Gujarat riots and stood out as one of the most talked about verdicts in recent history. Following the approval of the sentence remission application by a panel within the Gujarat government, all the convicted individuals were released.

What is Bilkis Bano’s case about?

After the burning of the Sabarmati train in Godhra on February 27, 2002, Gujarat experienced a period of heightened tensions. Tragically, fifty-nine karsevaks lost their lives in the train incident. Anticipating violence and rage against the minority in the village, a then five-month-old pregnant Bilkis Bano fled her home in Randhikpur village with her 3-year-old daughter, husband, and her other family members to find a safe space.

They sought safety in the Chhaparvad district. Unfortunately, on March 3, a group of around 20 to 30 individuals, armed with sickles, swords, and sticks, attacked Bilkis and her family. Among these attackers were the 11 men who were later convicted of gang-raping her. Bilkis, along with her mother and three other women were raped and assaulted. Her case was taken up by the National Human Rights Commission and the Supreme Court of India.

Timeline of Bilkis Bano Case

March 3, 2002: In Ahmedabad, a violent mob descended upon the family of 19-year-old Bilkis Bano, resulting in the tragic loss of seven family members. Amidst this chaos, Bilkis, who was five months pregnant at the time, was gang-raped, while six other members of her family managed to escape.

2002-2003: Despite her efforts, the local police consistently rejected Bilkis’s case, citing insufficient evidence, and even went so far as to threaten her with legal consequences if she persisted. Turning to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) for help, Bilkis eventually appealed to the Supreme Court.

December 2003. Responding to her plea, the Supreme Court mandated the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to undertake an inquiry into the matter.

January 2004: Following a thorough examination of the evidence presented in Bilkis’s complaint, the CBI apprehended all the suspects allegedly involved.

August 2004: Concerned about potential tampering with evidence and risks to witnesses, Bilkis expressed her worries. Consequently, the High Court opted to transfer the trial from Ahmedabad to Bombay.

January 2008: The trial court found 12 individuals guilty of various charges including rape, conspiracy, and murder. Eleven of them received life sentences after one of them died during the trial. In response, the defendants challenged their convictions in the High Court, seeking to overturn the trial court’s verdict.

July 2011: The CBI urged the Bombay High Court to impose the death penalty on the convicts.

July 15, 2016: The Bombay High Court deliberated on appeals presented by the 11 individuals charged in connection with the 2002 gang rape case.

September 2016: The convicts’ lawyer requested a re-examination of several witnesses, but the Bombay High Court rejected this petition.

October 2016: The Bombay High Court dismissed the application under the Code of Criminal Procedure while indicating that Bilkis could potentially elevate her application to an appeal.

December 2016: The Bombay High Court reserved judgment on appeals filed by 11 prisoners who had been sentenced to life imprisonment. Additionally, the Court reserved judgment on a CBI appeal that sought the death penalty for three of the convicted individuals, classifying it as an extraordinary circumstance.

May 2017: The Bombay High Court upheld the life sentences of the 11 convicts.

May 15, 2022: Seeking early release, one of the prisoners, who had already served more than 15 years, approached the Supreme Court. One of the individuals who had been convicted, Radheshyam Shah filed a petition to the Gujarat High Court in pursuit of sentence remission under the provisions outlined in sections 432 and 433 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The high court dismissed his appeal, highlighting that the decision regarding his remission rested with the “appropriate government,” which, in this case, was determined to be Maharashtra rather than Gujarat.

Subsequently, Shah submitted a plea to the Supreme Court, wherein he asserted that, as of April 1, 2022, he had spent a total of 15 years and four months in prison without receiving any form of remission. Responding to his plea, the Supreme Court instructed the Gujarat government to examine the matter of remission of Shah’s sentence. This directive led the government to establish a committee, under the leadership of Panchmahal Collector Sujal Mayatra, to address the issue.

August 15, 2022: As part of the Gujarat government’s remission policy, the eleven convicts were granted release from the Godhra sub-jail. The release of the 11 men triggered a widespread public outcry, prompting various PILs to be submitted to the Supreme Court. Notable individuals, including Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra and former CPI member MP Subhashini Ali, filed these PILs in August 2022. Subsequently, in November 2022, Bano herself appealed to the Supreme Court, contesting the Gujarat government’s decision to permit the 11 men’s release from incarceration.

December 2022: The Supreme Court dismissed the review petition filed by Bano that challenged the May 2022 order of the top court, which directed the remission of one of the convicts to be considered according to the 1992 remission policy of the Gujarat government.

March 2023: The case challenging the release of the eleven accused men was listed before a Bench of Justices KM Joseph and BV Nagarathna. The Bench issued notice to the Centre, Gujarat government and 11 convicts on the petition filed by Bilkis Bano.

April 2023: Extensive arguments began from both sides. The Supreme Court questioned Gujarat government’s decision to allow premature release of 11 convicts in the Bilkis Bano case. The Bench argued that when remission is considered in such heinous crimes affecting the society at large, the power must be exercised keeping in mind public interest.

September 2023: Continuing the hearings, the Supreme Court observed that some convicts are “more privileged” of getting parole for many days, unlike other convicts. The Bench also questioned how one of the convicts was allowed to practise law after his conviction.

October 2023: The top court reserved its verdict and asked the Centre and the Gujarat government to submit original records of files where the decision of remission was taken.

January 2024: Citing the Gujarat government’s incompetence, the Supreme Court cancelled the High Court order that had allowed the early release of Bilkis Bano’s rapists. A bench of Justices B V Nagarathna and Ujjal Bhuyan also acknowledged that the petition challenging the premature remission of the eleven convicts in the Bilkis Bano case was valid. The Supreme Court gave two weeks to the convicts to surrender

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, called upon the country’s voters to oust the BJP from Power at the centre.

Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah, on Sunday, called upon the country’s voters to oust the BJP from power at the Centre.
“People of the country must bring back the Congress to save democracy and the Constitution,” Siddaramaiah said while addressing a gathering at Sanmanger in Ahmednagar district during the birth centenary celebrations of doyen of cooperative movement Bhausaheb Thorat and pioneer of green revolution Annasaheb Shinde.

Bhausaheb Thorat was the father of state Congress Legislative Party leader Balasaheb Thorat, and was a prominent peasant leader and freedom fighter.
Former Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, Karnataka minister H K Patil and state Congress in-charge Ramesh Chennithala were among the big politicians present at the event.
“If Narendra Modi returns to power at the Centre after the 2024 Lok Sabha polls democracy will cease to exist.

Modi will continue to rule the country in a dictatorial manner,” the Karnataka CM alleged. He added that the voters in Karnataka rejected BJP in the assembly elections due to rampant corruption. He added current government is implementing all the promises made before the elections.

“My suggestion to the Maharashtra government is to plan and implement schemes for the benefit of people,” he said.
Siddaramaiah also lauded the work done by Bhausaheb and Annasaheb in the cooperative sector and green revolution, respectively

He added that credit must go to the Congress for the success of the green revolution and the cooperative movement in the country.
“Modi government has created the new Union ministry of cooperation at the Centre. This ministry, headed by Amit Shah, will spell doom for the country’s cooperative sector,” Siddaramaiah said. He alleged the Union ministry of cooperation is “concentrating all the powers” and taking decisions on the functioning of the cooperatives.

The role of state governments has reduced drastically. This trend is not good for the cooperative sector. There must be decentralization of power,” Siddaramaiah concluded.
